Drug Testing For Welfare

Stole this from a friend’s FB and I highly agree with it!

Florida is the first state that is now going to require drug testing for welfare! Some people are crying this is unconstitutional. How is this unconstitutional but it’s completely legal that every other working person had to pass a drug test in order to support those on welfare? Let’s get Welfare back to the one’s who NEED it, not those that just WANT it.

And before you say anything there is a difference between someone seeking help for their addiction and someone choosing to indulge their addiction. No I can’t help the fact that I may get ill or other people may get ill but we can seek treatment for said illnesses and neither you nor I should suffer for the person’s unwillingness to seek treatment.

If the person is in a state run treatment program and are making an effort to beat their addiction then yes we should work with that but if a person is refusing to get help or for example as some people do choosing to be homeless we should not be subsidizing that.

These programs were created with the goal of helping people better their own lives not to support them because they don’t feel like trying.

About Hakarune

Trying live life on my terms now I love to travel and have been to a lot of the US, and want to see the whole world and learn every language I can.... I love humor and sarcasm and use them both all the time, to the point where some people hate me for it, but as they say "Like Father Like Son." My dad is awesome and I love him, I missed not having him around when I was growing up, but now I'm making up for lost time. My dad is like my best friend and is like me, just older and not as hansom. Though I've been called worse than him cause I don't filter what I say (at all) and I'm blunt, honest, and speak exactly what I think as well as am a sarcastic ass to the point of occasionally offending people without meaning to, but that's life. Live it and get over it, and make the best of what time you got, don't sweat the small things. View all posts by Hakarune
